About Us

Sharon

SHARON – pony mad all her life she started riding at a riding school aged 5.  Lucky enough to start loaning a pony at aged 12, she bought her first horse Secret in 1996.

When Secret retired in 2007 so did Sharon from riding. After youngest daughter Emily started lessons when she was 8, Sharon did too, realising that was costing her a small fortune she bought Luna as an unbacked 8 year old project. Secret came back from retirement livery and spent her last 6 months at home before she died in Feb 2017.

Cassie joined the family and Emily was doing the bulk of the riding. When Cassie retired early 2019 Sparkle joined the family (she is the half sister of Luna), with plans that once old enough she would be Emily’s and Sharon would have Luna.

Emily and Sparkle didn’t click riding so it was a case of Sharon ride Sparkle or sell her – there was no way Sparkle was going anywhere and there began the start of our jouney.

Sparkle

SPARKLE or Blazing Moonshine Margarita, to give her her posh name,  is an Appoloosa cross Welsh pony, registered with the British Spotted Pony Society (BSpS) on the “Pintaloosa” register.  We have owned her since she was a 2 year old.

Sparkle has purposely been left to grow and mature, and was backed late in 2021 when Sparkle was 4 and a half.

Since the begining of 2022 Sharon and Sparkle have been a partnership, with Sparkle learning and Sharon relearning everything. They have tried a bit of everything from dressage, cross country and even horse back archery.

Luna

LUNA – Blazing Moon Shadow, became part of the family in 2016 as an unbacked 8 year old. After a couple of years of ground work and sorting out some underlying issues, she started ridden work properly in 2018 and has become a real all round pony.

She loves to jump – showjumping or cross country and Emily competed her regularly until 2022, when she slowed down to concentrate on her GCSEs.

Cassie

CASSIE is a new forest pony who came to us on  loan initially in March 2017, not long after we lost Secret. She was 15 when she came to us on loan.  In the begining of 2019 we realised she was starting to have trouble focusing so we semi-retired her. Emily still hacks her occassionally, but she is living her best life.
